
David Ryan lives just outside Dunlavin, a small village in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. Born in 1969 to Irish parents David has lived in Ireland all his life. Coming from an artistic family, it was no coincidence that David would continue the creative tradition. Following his formal schooling David spent some time at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and later concluded his education with a B.A. Degree from Maynooth University. He has pursued a career within the creative arts and started out in fine art painting. Much of his large scale contemporary work is exhibited and sold in galleries throughout Ireland. His interest in photography started at the age of 7 when he received his first camera as a gift from his father.
David photographs what he loves, the Irish landscape and its people. He has a real passion for tradition and his images have a timeless quality about them. He also has a love of horses and his work is frequently published in The Irish Field ,Horse and Hound and Ireland’s Horse and Pony.
